ough day for the Alice team
On a wet Mugello

As promised by the weather forecasts, the first day of work at the Mugello circuit has been ridden on a wet surface.

Rain has in fact dropped onto the Tuscan circuit since the first morning hours.

The Alice Team riders, Toni Elias and Sylvain Guintoli, didn't manage to obtain a satisfying result and concluded respectively in eighteenth and sixteenth position during the first day of work at the Alice Grand Prix of Italy.

For sure, the atmospheric conditions didn't help the French-Hispanic duo to solve the difficulties encountered in the last race on the Le Mans circuit two weeks ago. Tomorrow things should change as the sun is expected to shine on the Tuscan hills making the track completely dry.

Sergio Verbena – Sylvain Guintoli's Track Engineer
“Having seen his previous results with similar weather conditions, we expected much more from Sylvain. We couldn't find a good balance of the bike and unluckily we encountered some electronic problems. Sylvain couldn't manage to use the engine braking in the best way. Tomorrow the track should be dry, but if it will be wet again, we trust we will be able to solve the complications encountered today and at least enter the top ten. Now we will speak extensively with our rider in order to find some solutions for tomorrow.”

Sylvain Guintoli – Alice Team rider (16th best lap time in 2'01.718 – Total laps 33)
“I am surprised after this day of work. I didn't think I would finish so far behind with these track conditions. I wanted and I had to do much better. I was too slow in braking and when entering the turns. The bike didn't react as I wanted it to and now we have to understand what has happened.
We have to analyze the telemetric data to understand where and how to improve. If the track conditions remain the same tomorrow we should be able to make a big step forward in the classification.”

Toni Elias – Alice Team rider (18th best lap time in 2'03.305 – Total laps 33)
“With these track conditions the difficulties we encountered until this moment have gotten bigger: also for this reason we are in eighteenth position today. Knowing what is limiting our performances, we can radically change our work method. Tomorrow, both with rain or sun, we will try completely different solutions to try to conclude in a sensibly better position. I remain trustful and I believe that with my Team we will be able to work well for this important race for us.”
